Finally.

Finally done with the freaking public speaking thing! I'm so happy it's over although I didn't win. I had lots of fun though, and the girl who actually won was so sweet! We chatted during the intermission in the middle and I found out that she's a friend of Gavin Li, one of my closest friends! This just prooves my theory that every Chinese highschool student in Vancouver can be linked to each other within three degrees of separation.

My dad called me in the middle of the night last night, and when my mom barged into my room and handed the phone to me, I hung up without saying anything (or that's at least what I think happened)... but apparently, when I called my dad back tonight, he said THIS is actually what happened (translated from Chinese):

Dad: Hi...

Me (in an unconscious tone): Huh....

Dad: Hi...!!!

Me: Who are you...

And apparently at that point I hung up and threw the phone on the floor. I've never been a "daddy's girl" and I barely know him, which is unbelievable since legally, my parents are still married.

Post will end abruptly here, since I need to sleep.

i live in taiwan, so traditional characters for me, even though i can read some simplified chinese characters.

i agree that it's important to know chinese. many of my chinese friends use even less chinese that i do (not to mention that chinese is the language here), and i find that kinda sad.

wow, a public speaking person. i've never been a public speaking person, so wow. i'm more of a math/science person. (i know, stereotypical asian).
