Procrastinating, as usual.
I have my tutoring session with Prof. Yates tonight and I haven't even started on my thesis for this week yet. I know. I'm a horrible person.
The weather is so shitty today, I think it actually rained while I was in school during the day. There was a power outage between C Wing and A Wing, and also in D Wing on both floors today which meant I had no light at my locker. Fortunately, my locker is near a window so I had some natural light. It was resolved my lunchtime. The people on the second floor had a really bad time, especially people in upper D Wing, because it was pitch black and I heard people screaming and shit. I walked out of Law class with Sunnie and the hallway ahead was pitch black. I swear it was so fucking surreal and awesome at the same time.
Nicole and I will have another shopping day on Saturday! So I can pick up more MAC stuff and that Miss Sixty bag for Xiu. Black or green?! I'm still thinking about it... I think I'm having a big influence on Nicole in terms of label-whorism, she's starting to care more and more about which brands her stuff comes from. I remember when she first moved here last year, she was the epitome of Chinese street fashion. Looks great but nothing really high-end. In the one year that I've known her, she has at least bought one Diesel bag, countless Estee Lauder items, and a bottle of Hypnose by Lancome, countless cK perfumes and started wearing AX. I'm proud of her, and myself, for turning yet another potential materialiste into a full-blown label whore.
Had a short discussion with Sunnie about make-up and fashion during Law class today. Now, Sunnie is the head honcho of materialism in our clique. We were flipping through Tiffany & Co. catalogs and trying to convince everyone in our clique to buy an Atlas collection necklace, like the one she gave me for my birthday last year. She knows how obsessed I am with Roman numerals, so she got me that necklace. We argued over which collection looks better, Elsa Peretti or Atlas. It's always satisfying to argue over fashion and make-up with a fashionista like her, she's just too awesome. It's too bad that Anna Sui Ring Rouge #800 is out of production, because I enjoyed that one so much I wanted to get one for Sunnie, because her last name is Huang, and #800 is a golden colour, and it's the colour of the sun, perfect for Sunnie! I with Anna Sui would make it again, I'll definitely stock up on it next time.
Ok, enough procrastination and back to my thesis for tonight... My mind is overflowing with Beckett, Borges, Brecht... and... now, I'm BuZhiDao (means "I don't know" in Mandarin).

Haha. I laughed at the bit about how you converted your materialistic friend into a fellow label whore. I'm guilty of the same crime myself. You truly are who you surround yourself with. Or maybe we just become so...
My last name's Huang. Huang se de huang too. I've noticed that the few friends you've mentioned have "fobby" names. I had the opportunity to legally change my name when I became a U.S. citizen (blech), but I kept Fei.
Fei:
I too have a fobby name! Most of my friends do, actually. Even if they have English names, we call eachother by our Chinese names. It just doesn't feel right to speak English in a school populated by over 80% of FOB Chinese. I also had the chance to change my name into a English one when I becamed neutralized as a Canadian citizen, but I kept mine as well, because I never had an English name and I'm proud of it!
